About Me

Dr. Thushan Pathmalingam is a board-certified family physician with more than seven years of experience providing comprehensive primary care in the North Country. Since 2019, he has cared for individuals and families in Canton across every stage of life.

His clinical interests include preventive care, men’s health, weight management, metabolic health, and chronic disease management. He takes a practical, evidence-based approach and works with patients to create realistic plans that support both immediate needs and long-term health.

Dr. Pathmalingam also serves as Medical Director of the Medication-Assisted Treatment Program at the St. Lawrence County Jail, helping expand access to compassionate addiction and recovery care. His prior service with the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve continues to shape his commitment to discipline, service, and dependable physician-patient relationships

Why I Co-Founded North Core Medical

“Today’s healthcare system can feel fragmented, with insurance requirements, administrative demands, and documentation often taking time away from the patient. I co-founded North Core Medical to reduce those barriers and restore the focus to what patients deserve: time to be heard, direct access to their physician, thoughtful care, and a trusted relationship built over time.”
